Yes. The Paw Balm is formulated with food-grade safe ingredients specifically because dogs lick their paws. It contains no synthetic fragrance, no mineral oil, and no ingredients flagged as toxic to dogs by the ASPCA. That said, it's not designed to be eaten in large quantities — if your dog is obsessively licking, a soft cone for 10 minutes after application will let it absorb properly.

Scruff Co™ formulas are built specifically for sensitive and allergy-prone skin. We use colloidal oatmeal and calendula extract as the primary actives — both are clinically recognised for reducing skin inflammation. We exclude sulphates, synthetic fragrance, parabens, and silicones, which are the most common irritants in standard pet shampoos. That said, every dog is different. If your dog has a diagnosed allergy to a specific ingredient, check the full ingredient list on each product page before use.

No. Dog and cat skin have different pH levels and different sensitivities. Some ingredients safe for dogs are toxic to cats (particularly certain essential oils). We are building a dedicated cat range — until that launches, please do not use dog-specific products on cats. The Coming Soon section on this page has more detail on what we're working on.

For most dogs, once every 2-4 weeks is appropriate. Over-bathing strips the skin's natural oils regardless of how gentle the formula is. Dogs with skin conditions may benefit from more frequent washing with a medicated shampoo prescribed by their vet — our wash works well as a maintenance product between those treatments.
